PureRunAir is a minimalist running tracker. It records your route using GPS, computes distance, pace and elevation, exports your runs as GPX files, and shows live run progress on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. The app is fully offline — your runs never leave your device.

Why does the app ask for "Always" location permission?
So the tracker can keep recording while your phone is locked or the app is in the background — for example while the phone is in a pocket or armband. Your location is used only to record your route and never leaves the device. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
Does the app use the internet?
No. PureRunAir has no network connection at all. There is no account, no cloud, no analytics — all data stays on your iPhone.
How do I put my phone in a pocket or armband?
Simply lock your screen and put the phone away. Since "Always" location permission is granted, the app keeps recording in the background and updates the Live Activity so you can see your time and distance at a glance.
How do I export a run as a GPX file?
Open the finished run and use the Export / GPX option. iOS presents the standard share sheet, where you can save the GPX file to the Files app, AirDrop it, or send it to a service of your choice. Export is local and uses your existing iOS sharing options.
Where can I view the Live Activity?
While a run is active, it appears on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island on supported iPhone models (iPhone 14 Pro and later). It updates periodically and ends automatically when you stop the run.
How do I delete my recordings?
You can delete recorded runs in the app, or remove all app data by uninstalling PureRunAir. Because there is no cloud, deleting locally deletes everywhere.
The route looks wrong or has gaps. What can I do?
My question isn't answered here.
