This privacy policy applies to the PureRunAir app for mobile devices (the "Application"), operated by BIN XIAO (the "Service Provider"). PureRunAir is a minimalist running tracker that records your route using GPS while you run.
In short: the Application is fully offline. There is no account, no server, no analytics, and no network connection. Everything recorded is stored only on your own device and never leaves it. The sections below describe this in detail.
The Application does not transmit, upload, sell, or share any of your data. It has no internet access at all. Running is recorded locally, so the Application never knows your identity, and nothing about you is ever sent to the Service Provider or to any third party.
While you are running, the Application uses the GPS receiver of your device to record a position sample about once per second. These samples form your running route and are used to compute the distance, pace and elevation shown in the app.
For the tracker to work, the Application requests two location permissions on iOS:
You can review and change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. If you do not grant location permission, the Application will already work for other purposes but cannot record a running route. Location data is used solely for recording your route and computing your run statistics.
While a run is in progress, the Application can display your current run (time, distance and pace) as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. This content is rendered locally on your device, is never captured, uploaded or disclosed to anyone, and ends when you stop and save or discard the run.
You can export a recorded run as a standard GPX file. The file is written locally on your device (for example to the Files app or any location you choose) using the standard iOS share/export sheet. Export is entirely local — no copy is sent anywhere by the Application.
All recorded runs are stored exclusively in a local database on your device. No cloud storage or backup service is used. Data is retained on the device for as long as you keep it. You can delete individual runs in the app, overwrite or delete all data, or remove everything simply by uninstalling the Application. Because data never leaves the device, no retention obligations or retention schedules on any server apply.
The Application does not use cookies, web beacons, pixels or any other tracking technologies, and it does not use advertising identifiers (such as IDFA). No analytics software of any kind is embedded in the Application.
None. The Application contains no third-party SDKs and makes no network requests. There are no external services, and therefore no data is shared with, or accessible to, any third party.
None. Your data stays on your device. No personal data is transferred to, or processed in, any country other than the one you are in, because the Application has no means of transmitting data at all.
Because all of your data lives on your own device, you can exercise access, correction and deletion rights directly:
If you are in a jurisdiction that grants you rights over personal data (such as the GDPR in the EEA/UK or the CCPA/CPRA in California), those rights apply to the extent any personal data exists. Since the Application transmits no personal data, no request for access to, or deletion of, data held by a server is necessary or applicable. The Service Provider nevertheless remains available to help you at the contact address below.
You can stop location collection at any time without deleting the app, by revoking location permission in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. To stop all data collection entirely, uninstall the Application — its local data on your device is removed along with the app.
The Application is not intended for children under 16 years of age, or such higher age as required by applicable law. The Service Provider does not knowingly solicit data from children or market the Application to them. The Application does not collect any personal information, but GPS recordings may contain location data; parents and guardians who choose to let children use the Application should do so with the child's location privacy in mind.
Your data is protected by the standard iOS security model: the Application runs inside the iOS sandbox, its local database can only be accessed by the Application, and the device's built-in protections (passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, automatic encryption) protect the device itself. You can further protect your recordings by securing your device and keeping iOS up to date.
Because the Application stores no data remotely and has no network connection, no server-side data breach can affect your data. In the unlikely event of any incident affecting user data, the Service Provider will comply with all applicable notification requirements, including the GDPR and any other law that applies to you.
The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted to this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Application after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. You are encouraged to review this page periodically.
By installing and using the Application you confirm that you have read and understood this policy. You understand that the Application records your location data solely on your device for the purpose of tracking your run, and you may withdraw location access at any time via iOS Settings.
